The Tang Dynasty (618-906) is referred to as the "Golden Age". This period signifyied a distinct cultural shift and re-birth of the arts in China. Building and improving from Han Dynasty, the Tang Dynasty developed distinct ceramic styles, including tri-coloured pottery.


As reflected in Tri-Colour Figurines of Musicians, the musician's bodies are depicted as curvy in order to reflect the "ideal" body type for women of this time period.
