The Fish-Basin first appeared in the Han Dynasty in China. Quaint in shape and capturing a traditional aesthetic, this authentic bronze bowl depicts four fish at the bottom of the basin and two ears welded onto its rim. In order to make the basin sing, clean water must sit at the bottom. Then, with clean hands, rub the ears slowly. A sweet drone will be heard from the basin and four water coloumns of about 50 cm high will spurt out from the mouth of four fish.
The singing of the fish basin will make you stronger and happier, promoting an enthusiasm for life. The Bronze Singing Fish Basin is documented as a historic object that encouraged "play" among nobles, gifted scholars and beautiful ladies in the Ming Dynasty.
